ABL - A Work Of Art by *Beautifull-Freak
"The Arctic. Beautiful. Desolate. Fragile..." The frontman of the band Thirty Seconds To Mars puts it ever so delicately. And he couldn't be more right. An entire explanation, written beautifully, about the music video for their new single is posted on the website A Beautiful Lie.org, launced on the day the video was released. Truths stabbing coldly into my hearts as I read the words of Mars Manifesto. Shot entirely in Greenland, the video proves to be, yet again, a true work of art by this most special rockband. Their previous videos for The Kill and From Yesterday (shot in the People's Republic of China) are beautiful in their own way, though not comparable to this magnificent video for A Beautiful Lie. The lighting, the effects, the perfect matchings of sounds and picture... It's absolutely breathtaking. Subliminal messages with painfully truthful words make you wonder. They're not claiming to be differnt or better, they're admitting they're the same as the rest of us, just as guilty of destroying the environmnet. The difference, however, is that with this video and website, they have now taken the first steps to make a change. And by taking the initiative, they try to motivate us to join in and spread the message. Not only is A Beautiful Lie a magnificent work of art, it is the start of a revolution! |
